    DELPHOS — Attendance at the annual Canal Days Toast to the City seems to know no bounds. The Entertainment Tent and surrounding area was bursting with 543 people ready to raise their glass to Delphos and the waterway the festival honors.

    DELPHOS — Attendance at the annual Canal Days Toast to the City seems to know no bounds. The Entertainment Tent and surrounding area was bursting with 543 people ready to raise their glass to Delphos and the waterway the festival honors.

     
  • Sonia S. (Briggs) Mazur, 74, of Van Wert died at 11:12 a.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

    Arrangements are incomplete at Cowan and Son Funeral Home, Van Wert.

  • On Sept. 7, Delphos Police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East Seventh Street to investigate a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival, officers located three males matching the description given. After identifying the three individuals, it was found that, 28-year-old Terry Stebleton, had an active warrant out of Wood County for non-payment of child support. Stebleton was taken into custody and transported to the Allen County Jail.

  • Canal Days are here again. I’m looking forward to the weekend because it has become a weekend of traditions. The tradition begins as I watch the rides and vendors pull in on Friday morning below our window here on Main Street.

  • CANADENSIS, Pa. (AP) — Hours after a slain Pennsylvania State Police trooper was laid to rest, the hunt for a man charged with killing him briefly intensified late Thursday as authorities blocked roads around the home of the suspect's parents.

    The Barrett Township Fire Department opened a shelter for residents in the area who were unable to get to their homes due to police activity in the rural northeastern Pennsylvania community, but shut it down not long after as police reopened the area to traffic.

    HARROD — Bluffton won the Northwest Conference golf tournament in an 18-hole tournament played at Colonial Golf Club. The first-place tournament finish also clinched the overall 2014 conference golf championship for the Pirates.
