State Senator Cliff Hite (R-Findlay) Wednesday presented a resolution recognizing Brooke Mangas of Ottoville High School on winning the 2016 Division III state high jump championship.

“This accomplishment reflects a spirit of discipline and determination,” said Hite. “I am pleased to recognize Brooke for her success and I am filled with pride alongside the members of her team, school and community.”

Mangas is the back-to-back Division III High Jump State Champion, first claiming the title as a sophomore in 2015. In 2016, she surpassed the state record when she jumped 5 feet, 10 inches at the OHSAA Division III state track and field meet.

After presenting a resolution to Mangas, Senator Hite uses his Senate colleagues Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) and Joe Schiavoni (D-Boardman) as a height reference for Mangas’ championship-winning victory.
