DELPHOS — Delphos FFA members and local farmers and other ag-related businesses schooled third-graders on where their food comes from on Thursday.

The FFA chapter’s annual Food for America event teaches youngsters that their food doesn’t originate in the grocery store.

Stops on the day-long tour included Chief Supermarket, Mox Nursery, the Hempfling dairy farm, Rode’s cattle farm, Heidelbaugh sheep farm, the Reindel hog farm and a trip to Stadium Park to learn safety tips.

The students get up close and personal with farm animals and learn about the industry at each stop.

FFA members are stationed at each location and two were on each bus with the students.
