DELPHOS — Opal Naomi Fry, 88, of Delphos passed away on Sunday at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Delphos.

She was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Paulding County to Henry J. and Maud E. (Ashenfelter) Stahl. Both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Nelson Fry on Sept. 24, 1946. He survives in Delphos.

She is also survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Don) Brandyberry of Newport News, Virginia, and Cathy Kelly (Sybert) of Delphos; five grandchildren, Kim Adams of Madison, Alabama, Jenna (Mike) Payne of Yorktown, Virginia, Amy Stalbosky of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Chery Hasenkamp of Wapakoneta; five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Matthew Adams of Madison, Justyn Hasenkamp of Wapakoneta and Savannah and Michael Payne of Yorktown; a sister, Coral Cocke of Hicksville; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Bernice Dunn.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Isaac, Woodrow, Henry and George Stahl; five sisters, Ida Moore, Alice Straley, Wilma Porter, Helen Stahl and Maxine Stahl; son-in-law, Larry Sybert; and grandson-in-law, Nate Adams.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Church in Grover Hill andChristian Union Church in Delphos, where she was very active in the Mary Martha Class and the Ladies Aid Society. Opal was a housewife who was known for her baking and one of her pumpkin pies sold for $300 at a charity auction. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, with calling one hour prior to the service, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Grover Hill.

Friends may also call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.
