KALIDA — Kalida’s girls basketball team was looking to finish the 2016-17 regular season at .500 as they entertained Continental in Putnam County League action Thursday night inside the Wildcat Den.

Mission accomplished.

They grabbed a 16-4 lead after eight minutes of action and stymied the Lady Pirates 50-24.

Sarah Klausing put together a double-double of 21 points and 11 boards to pace the LadyCats (11-11, 3-4 PCL), while Kara Siefker added 10.

Logan and Bradford netted six each for the Lady Pirates (2-20, 1-6 PCL).

Kalida takes on Wayne Trace at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bluffton to open Division IV sectional play.

Continental battles Fort Jennings 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Paulding.
