Police probe burglary complaint

Delphos Police were called to the Cleveland Court area at 4 p.m. Thursday in reference to a burglary complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had gained entry into the residence and had taken personal items from inside. 
The case has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.

 

Residents report damages to vehicles

Delphos Police were called to the 400 block of East Ninth Street at 8:29 p.m. Thursday in reference to some damage to a motor vehicle parked in that area.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had placed items inside the vehicle and caused damage to the windshield.
Delphos Police were called to the 200 block of South Main Street at 7:02 p.m. Saturday in reference to a complaint in that area.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had punctured a tire on the victim’s vehicle.
Delphos Police were dispatched to the 700 block of North Canal Street at 1:35 a.m. Sunday in reference to a complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had caused damage to their vehicle.

 

Smoke bombs cause damage in park restroom

Delphos Police were dispatched to Waterworks Park at 5 p.m. Saturday in reference to damage to a restroom.
Upon officers’ arrival, it was found someone had set off several smoke bombs in the restroom and caused minor damage to some of the restroom equipment.

 

Fireworks lead to warrant arrest

While on routine patrol in the area of Waterworks Park at 11:28 p.m. Sunday, Delphos Police officers observed subjects setting off fireworks inside the park.
Upon approaching and identifying the subjects, it was found that Lance Contreras, 22 of Van Wert was found to have an active arrest warrant issued out of Van Wert Municipal Court for failing to appear for a scheduled court appearance. As a result, Contreras was taken into custody and was later turned over to the Van Wert Police Department on the warrant.

Police investigate theft complaints

Delphos Police were called to the 500 block of South Jefferson Street at 6:33 p.m. Thursday in reference to a theft complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had entered an unattached garage and had taken items from inside. 
The Detective Bureau was contacted and the case was turned over to them for further investigation.
Delphos Police were called to the 200 block of Holland Avenue at 7:21 p.m. Thursday in reference to a theft complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had taken several bicycles from the residence.
Delphos Police were called to the 1100 block of North Washington Street at 3:52 p.m. Friday in reference to a theft complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had entered a shed and had taken items from inside the shed. A neighbor reported that a family member of the victim had went into the shed and had removed the items.
Delphos Police were called to the 800 block of South Main Street at 12:31 p.m. Saturday in reference to a theft complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had taken a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle dirt bike that was blue and white in color.

Delphos man arrested for OVI

While on routine patrol at 1:11 a.m. Sunday, Delphos Police observed a motor vehicle in the 800 block of North Main Street and a traffic stop was performed.
Officers found Luke Osting, 30 of Delphos operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. As a result, Osting was cited into Lima Municipal Court on the charge and later released.

Freezer damaged at park

Delphos Police were called to Stadium Park at 11:13 a.m. Sunday.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that sometime in the overnight hours someone had caused damage to a freezer at the park causing damage to items inside the freezer.

Lima man lies to officers

Delphos Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Elida Avenue at 5:17 p.m. Thursday in reference to a subject at a local business in that area acting suspiciously.
Upon officers’ arrival, the subject supplied false information to officers as to his true identity. As a result, David Ketchum, 20, of Lima was cited into Lima Municipal Court on charges of supplying false information to officers.

Man cited for driving under suspension

While on routine patrol in the 800 block of South Main Street at 6:40 p.m. Monday, officers observed a vehicle being driven by James Irwin, 44 of Spencerville who failed to stop for a posted stop sign. 
A check found that Irwin was operating the vehicle while under suspension. He was cited into Lima Municipal Court on the charges.
