“(This was a) Very, very physical basketball game - as tournament games always are. They’ve got Division I athletes all over the court, maybe not in basketball but they are in football and track. It was a physical basketball game, and with our youth we have to get stronger. That is how the game was called and we couldn’t finish through contact. I thought as a game went on we didn’t back down and we started getting the ball to the rim and some good things happened for us,” said Jefferson coach Marc Smith.

“The kids aren’t going to give up, that’s not who am I as a coach and not who my assistants are. We are going to do things the right way and work our tails off and do things with class. We do things the blue-collar way and we have a work ethic and that is just who we are,” commented Smith.

With the win the T-birds improve to 22-2 on the year, and Jefferson drops to 6-18 on the season with the loss.
