The following individuals appeared Wednesday before Judge Charles Steele in Van Wert County Court of Common Pleas:
Sentencing
Michael Coombs Jr. 29, Van Wert, was sentenced on a charge of trafficking marijuana, a felony of the fifth degree.
He received three years community control, up to six months in the WORTH Center, 30 days jail, 100 hours community service, substance abuse assessment and treatment, two years intensive probation, driver’s license suspended for six months, ordered to pay restitution to the West Central Ohio Task Force for $350, court costs and partial court appointed counsel fees.
A 12-month prison sentence was deferred pending completion of Community Control.

Change of pleas
John McDermitt, 20, Celina changed his plea to guilty to contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child, a misdemeanor of the first degree. A second charge of importuning, a felony of the fifth degree, was dismissed for his plea. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for April 24.

Bradley Workman, 30, Monroeville, Ind., entered a plea of guilty to nonsupport of dependents, a felony of the fifth degree. He then requested and was granted entry into the prosecutor’s diversion program and the case was stayed pending completion of that program

Lawrence Blakely, 64, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to nine counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug, each a felony of the fifth degree; and also to Workers Comp fraud, a misdemeanor of the first degree. He then requested, and was granted treatment in lieu of conviction and the case was stayed pending completion of his treatment program.

Dominique Brown, 27, Defiance, entered a plea of guilty to a prosecutor’s Bill of Information charging her with aggravated assault, a felony of the fourth degree. Her previously pending charges of aggravated burglary and felonious assault were dismissed for her plea.
The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for May 8.
