LIMA — Spectators at the 2013 Allen County Fair will see the latest in fan cooling technology when they visit the show arena Aug. 16-24.

Two large 20-foot diameter fans have been installed in the arena to help cool the animals (and spectators) for the myriad of events held in the large building.

The fan contractor, Big Ass Fans of Lexington, Ky., is known worldwide as the innovator in large fans and moving air. The fans are used in industrial, commercial, farm, ranch and convention center applications worldwide.

The fans were generously donated by United Equity President Jackie Seibert of Delphos; Todd Gable of Gable Family Farms, Delphos; Eric Fritz, Bobcat of Lima; Potash Corporation, Lima; Todd Schaub of S&S Volvo, Lima; and Dan Kimmet, Elida.

“These individuals saw a need for cooling in the arena building and wanted to help the Fair make this project happen. We sincerely appreciate their generosity. We couldn’t have made this happen without their help,” Allen County Fair General Manager David Grimm said.

Fair Director Kimmet from Elida, who helped facilitate the program was pleased.

“These fans really move a lot of air. It’s amazing what two fans can do in a 7,200-square-foot building,” he said.
