Mary Jane Kromer, 91, died at 3:01 p.m. Wednesday at her residence in Lima.
Jane was born on March 25, 1922, in Delphos to Stephen and Theresa [Sendelbach] Eickholt, who preceded her in death.
On Saturday, June 30, 1951, she married Gerald C. Kromer. He died on June 12, 1990.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society and St. Rita’s Alumni Association. A registered nurse, she graduated from St. Rita’s School of Nursing, class of 1943. She was formerly employed at St. Rita’s Medical Center and the Lima Convalescent Home. Her nursing skills were lovingly directed towards her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and her friends. She enjoyed spending time in her garden.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary Ann Kromer of Lima; two sons, Steve Kromer and John (Helen) Kromer of Lima; two grandchildren, Zachary (Meghan) Kromer and Theresa Kromer; and one great-grandchild, Penelope Jane Kromer.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Eickholt.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima.
A Memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church, the Rev. David M. Ross officiating. Interment of the ashes will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
