Mary M. Springer, age 92, of Lima, died Friday at home surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 25, 1921, near Delphos to James H. and Minnie B. Nagel Claypool, who preceded her in death.
On May 20, 1944, she married Albert L. Springer, who died Feb. 21, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry L. (Deborah) Springer and Randy Jay (Debbie Roper) Springer of Lima; a daughter, Lou Ann (Randy) McGuire of Lima; three grandchildren, Joelene (Dave Brunner) Jordan, Lorna Springer and Jack McGuire; two great grandchildren, Brooke (Joseph) Kroupa and Kitiera Heffner; a great-great-grandson due in March; and a brother, Eugene Claypool of Fort Wayne.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Utrup; and brothers Allan Claypool and Bob Claypool.
Mrs. Springer was a homemaker and a consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was an active member of Forest Park United Methodist Church in Lima, where she loved serving in numerous ways and a former member of the Christian Women’s Club. One of her favorite hobbies was visiting garage sales. She was a seamstress and used to spend summers in Michigan and winters in Florida. Her children and grandchildren were very special and she valued time spent with them.
Funeral services will begin 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Park United Methodist Church, Lima, Pastor Tim Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Forest Park United Methodist Church.
