Man found
hiding in garage

Delphos Police were called to the 400 block of North Maple Street at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a suspicious male in the backyard of the homeowner. 
After officers arrived, and the homeowner provided a description of the suspicious male the officers started checking the area.
Within a short period of time, officers discovered Johnny Ray Foust hiding in another garage in the 400 block of North Maple Street. Foust was taken into custody and transported to the Van Wert County Jail on charges of criminal trespass.

Resident injured by intruder

Delphos Police Officers responded to a 911 call to the 300 block of South Cass Street at 5:43 a.m. Tuesday on a report of an intruder inside the residence. 
Upon the officers’ arrival, the resident reported while checking out a suspicious noise in the basement, they discovered an unknown male intruder.
The resident reported there was an altercation with the suspect then the suspect male fled the area. During the incident, the resident received minor injuries. 
First responders were called to the scene then the resident was transported to a local hospital for further examination. 
The case is still under investigation.

Packages stolen from mailbox

Delphos Police Officers were called to the 700 block of Skinner Street at 8:53 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a suspected theft. 
The resident advised officers that several mail-order packages had been stolen from their mailbox. 
The resident has contacted the postal service and the incident remains under investigation.

Resident reports burglary

Delphos Police Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of South Cass Street at 11:33 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a burglary. 
The homeowner advised when they returned home, they discovered unknown subject(s) had been inside the residence as property had been disturbed and knocked over. 
The case is still under investigation.

Police settle
verbal dispute

Delphos Police were called to the 900 block of South Clay Street at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday in response to a theft report. 
Upon officers’ arrival, two individuals were having a verbal dispute over keys to a vehicle and unreturned property. 
The matter was later settled between the two parties.

Resident receiving threatening text messages

Delphos Police were called to the 400 block of North Maple Street at 7:53 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a menacing complaint. 
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim advised that she has been receiving threatening text messages from an ex-boyfriend.

reports harassment

Delphos Police were called to the 100 block of North Jefferson Street at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a menacing complaint. 
The victim reported she has been harassed by a relative of an ex-boyfriend.
