|Sheriff releases December dog warden report|

VAN WERT — Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach has released the Van Wert County Dog Warden activity report for the months of August-December 2013.
The dog warden traveled 4,207 while answering citizens’ complaints and assisting other agencies. The dog warden handled 139 complaints, received 198 calls from residents, conducted 48 licenses checks with four dogs being unlicensed, 78 dogs were impounded, with 17 dogs returned to their owners and two dogs adopted. The dog warden also left 23 door hangers for residents to contact him, issued nine warnings, impounded 48 cats, picked up 39 dead animals, handled 37 wildlife calls and provided nine assists to other agencies.
