COLUMBUS GROVE — The host Columbus Grove girls basketball team opened up an 18-8 first-period lead and routed visiting Paulding 60-29 in Northwest Conference girls action Thursday inside The Dog Pound.

Jade Clement led a balanced Lady Bulldog (9-5, 3-1 NWC) effort with 13 markers and Julia Wynn added nine.

For the Lady Panthers (5-8, 1-5), McCullough tallied eight.

The Bulldogs tallied 22-of-51 from the floor, 6-of-14 threes, for 43 percent and 10-of-17 free shots (59%). They controlled 23 rebounds and turned it over 13 times. They visit Miller City 1 p.m. Saturday.

Paulding ended up shooting 12-of-43 overall, 3-of-7 downtown, for 28 percent and 2-of-7 singles (29%). They grabbed 21 boards and had 23 errors.

Grove won the JV matchup 62-14.
