|Ottawa man dies in one-vehicle crash|

OTTAWA — A man died in a one-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon after his vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway for an unknown reason.
Ronald J. Miehls Jr. of Ottawa was driving a 2006 Jeep Commander northbound on SR 65 (Perry Street) near Oakview Drive in Ottawa when his vehicle drifted off to the right at around 4:22 p.m.
The Jeep struck a traffic sign, a metal post and a mobile home before coming to a final rest against the mobile home. Seconds later, the vehicle burst into flames and burned out of control until the Ottawa Fire Department arrived and put the fire out.
Miehls was pronounced dead at the scene by Putnam County Coroner Dr. Horstman. Miehls was transported to Love’s Funeral Home and will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Ottawa Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Ottawa Fire Department, Ottawa EMS, Putnam County EMA and Huggins Towing.
