At approximately 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29, officers were called to the 400 block of West Wayne Street on a complaint of a male trying to enter a residence. Upon arrival, officers located the male at a different residence trying to gain entry there as well. Officers made contact with the male, 51-year-old Larry Brincefield of Delphos. After speaking with Brincefield, it was found that he was highly intoxicated. He was transported to his residence and issued a citation for disorderly conduct by intoxication and given a warning to stay inside his residence for the remainder of the night. Brincefield will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court on that charge.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., officers received two calls of a male walking in the center of the roadway in the 700 block of South Main Street. Officers proceeded to that area and found that the male was Brincefield. It was also found that he had created a disturbance inside a business in the 600 block of South Main Street just prior to officers’ arrival. Brincefield was taken into custody and transported to the Allen County Jail. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face a charge of persistent disorderly conduct by intoxication.
At 5:52 p.m. Jan. 31, a Delphos Police officer on patrol observed the driver of a motor vehicle commit a traffic offense. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, 30-year-old Jeremy Stemen of Delphos. During the traffic stop, officers found Stemen to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was given a citation for the offenses and will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court to face the charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 5:49 a.m. Feb. 1, officers were dispatched to locate a vehicle that was seen driving in a reckless manner. Upon arriving to the area where the vehicle was seen, officers located the vehicle matching the description. As officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver tried to elude officers by driving onto a business parking lot and fleeing on foot. The driver couldn’t be located but was identified as 30-year-old Joseph Thayer of Lima. A passenger in the vehicle, Jonathan Seman of Delphos, was taken into custody and transported to the Allen County Jail on a probation violation. Thayer did appear in Lima Municipal Court on the charge of obstructing official business, where he pleaded guilty to the charge.
At 11:30 p.m. Feb. 1, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for an expired registration violation. Officers made contact with the driver, 24-year-old Blake Shaffer of Delphos. During the investigation, it was found that Shaffer’s driving status was suspended for a license forfeiture suspension. He was issued a citation and will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charges.
At 9:16 p.m. Feb. 2, officers were dispatched to a domestic violence incident at a residence in the 200 block of Monroe Street. Upon officers’ arrival, they met with the suspect and victims. After investigation, it was found that 12-year-old Joshua Long of Delphos caused physical harm to a family member and was arrested for the offense. Long was transported to the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center and will face the charge of domestic violence in Allen County Juvenile Court.
