WAPAKONETA — It was opening day across Major League Baseball on Monday under blue skies and warmer weather.

Monday also was the day St. John’s opened the 2014 baseball season at Wapakoneta and fell 6-3.

The Blue Jays outhit the Redskins 8-7 with Buddy Jackson going 3-for-3 and Austin Heiing collecting a pair of hits.

The Delphos team committed a total of four errors, which led the way to the loss.

St. John's hosts Crestview 5 p.m. Wednesday for its Stadium Park home opener.
