Two University of Northwestern Ohio students took first place in the respective fields at the Business Professionals of America’s National Contest held April 29 through May 3 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Niki Holcomb of Gomer topped Fundamental Word Processing and David Hites of Elida took first in Legal Office Procedures.
Seven UNOH students and their advisor attended this year’s event with more than 5,000 students from across the nation. Overall, UNOH had finalists in 13 of 17 competitive events.
All seven members won or placed in state-level events which qualified them to participate at the National Leadership Conference.
Business Professionals of America is a not-for-profit, co-curricular educational association of student members preparing for careers in business. The Business Professionals of America organization, formed in 1966, seeks to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. Currently, there are more than 600 BPA chapters nationwide at the College/University level. Ten chapters exist in Ohio.
