NEW KNOXVILLE — The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 922 will host its annual Young Eagles Day Saturday at the Neil Armstrong Airport in New Knoxville.
Young people between the ages of 8-17 will be offered the opportunity to receive a free airplane ride. Participants will receive a certificate noting they have achieved the flight and will have a change to view various kinds of airplanes up close and personal. Last year, more than 110 young people took to the air. For many, it was their first flight.
Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be at the airport between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Several planes and licensed pilots are available for the event but its a good idea to arrive early.
