The following individuals appeared Wednesday before Judge Charles Steele in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court: 
Criminal hearings 
Kelcey L. Frye, 20, Rockford, was placed on three years of community control and sent for up to six months to the WORTH Center in Lima on a charge of robbery.   
Mr. Kennedy told the judge that the victim had been consulted about the possible sentence reduction and community control, the victim was in agreement and further asked that happen.
Frye, according to a Van Wert County Sheriffs Department investigation grabbed a backpack from a victim which contained $450 in cash. 
Frye, in addition to spending the time at the WORTH Center, will be required to spend up to 30 days in the Van Wert County Jail at a time determined by his supervision officer, perform 200 hours community service and be under two years of intensive supervision.  
A prison sentence of two years was given Frye with the imposition of the prison sentence deferred pending the successful completion of the community control. 
Matthew Pefley, 36, Van Wert, was sentenced to a six-month jail term on a charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, which was ordered served concurrently with a four-year prison term. 
Pefley had been on release from prison on judicial release and was on probation with the Van Wert County Adult Probation Department. Judge Steele found Pefley was not amenable to community control and that prison is consistent as part of punishment.  
Pefley was originally in prison on a charge of arson and insurance fraud for a fire that he allegedly set to his home in Ohio City.  
Judge Steele did give Pefley credit for 218 days he has already served against the prison sentence.  
Change of plea hearings 
Chad W. Diltz, 34, Delphos, plea of guilty to a charge of trafficking in oxycodone.  
Diltz allegedly sold oxycodone to an undercover agent working for the West Central Crime Task Force which was conducting an investigation in Delphos in July. 
Judge Steele ordered a pre-sentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for 9 a.m. May 11. 
Scott D. Bauer, 47, Convoy, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of assault, a felony of the fourth degree.  
A pre-sentence investigation was ordered with sentencing set for 9 a.m. May 11. 
Michael W. Beach, 47, Delphos entered a guilty plea to four counts of illegal processing of drug documents. 
Beach had filed a motion for Treatment in Lieu of Conviction which was granted. Beach will be supervised while in treatment by the Van Wert County Adult Probation Department for a period not to exceed one year. 
Billy Ray Gibson, 41, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the first degree. 
Judge Steele ordered a pre-sentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for March 30. 
Gibson was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a no contact order with the victim. 
Lauren Rupert, 19, Sidney, was arraigned on a charge of possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. 
Rupert entered a not guilty plea, was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for 8 a.m. April 27.
Steven Darnell, 23, Van Wert, entered a guilty plea to a charge of burglary a felony of the fourth degree. Darnell was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond. 
A pre-sentence investigation was ordered with a sentencing  hearing being scheduled for 8 a.m. May 17.
Nathaniel Thomas, 32, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the first degree. 
A pre-sentence investigation was ordered with sentencing at 9 a.m. April 27. 
Kevin E. Krick, 48, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the first degree.  
A pre-sentence investigation was ordered with sentencing scheduled for 9 a.m. May 18.
