Delphos woman among 3 injured in crash on SR 309 PDF Print

Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at 5:40 a.m. today on State Route 309 near milepost 4 in Marion Township.
According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol report, Craig Atkins, 40, of Lima was traveling westbound on S.R. 309 when he drifted left of center swiping an eastbound vehicle driven by Aaron Thompson, 29, of Lima. The Adkins vehicle continued left of center striking a car driven by Mary Lucas, 59, of Delphos head on.
All three vehicles traveled off the edge of the roadway after impact.
Adkins and Lucas were transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center by American Township EMS. Thompson transported himself to St. Rita’s. Their condition is not available at this time.
The crash is still under investigation. Seat belts were used by Lucas and Thompson. A seat belt was not used by Adkins.
The patrol was assisted by American Township Volunteer Fire/EMS, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Allen County React.
