Landeck first-graders receive letter, pictures from soldier pen pal

LANDECK — Sue Barclay’s first-grade class at Landeck Elementary has been corresponding with SPC Jon Staples. He is stationed in Afghanistan.  Barclay said the students were surprised at the way the kids in Afghanistan dress and the things that they eat. They also talked about how many things they have whenever they want them and that they aren’t always as thankful as they should be.
