OTTOVILLE — Tuesday night, the St. John’s girls soccer team traveled to the Ottoville Sports Complex to take on the Lady Green of Ottoville. The Lady Green came away with the non-league win 3-0. The Lady Green’s win was bittersweet as seven seniors played their last match on the Ottoville soccer field. Rachel Beining, Monica Buettner, Kendra Koester, Casey Miller, Marissa Pohlabel, Rachel Turnwald, and Nicole Vorst – all starters for the Lady Green – were honored before the match and walked across the field hand and hand with their parents before giving them a big hug and thank you. Unfortunately, on the other side of the field, the Jays lost eight starters – including seven seniors - from last year’s squad and are trying to find a combination that works to fill a lot of positions.
