VAN WERT — Four people received minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident on US Route 224 near the intersection of Van Wert Decatur Road in Van Wert County at 2:31 p.m. Friday.

David Rump, 50, of Lewistown was westbound on US Route 224. When he attempted to turn left onto Van Wert Decatur Road, he failed to yield to Corrie Sacket, who was eastbound on US Route 224.

VAN WERT — A Sidney man was arrested by Van Wert Police after he was found in possession of a bulk amount of the drug known as “bath salts.”

Brandon S. Turner, 28, was arrested by officers of the Van Wert City Police Department Tuesday night after he was found to be in possession of a bulk amount of bath salts.

LIMA – As part of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s ongoing effort to contribute to a safer Ohio, troopers are continuing their increased focus on impaired-driving enforcement – and these efforts are paying off.

For the second year in a row, troopers issued more than 24,000 citations for OVI.

At approximately 4:27 p.m. Tuesday, a Delphos Police officer on duty observed a vehicle with a known registration violation being operated in the 800 block of South Main Street. Due to this, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle.

The officer made contact with the driver, 31-year-old David Strause II of Delphos. A check of Strause’s driving status revealed he was driving on a suspended license.

DELPHOS — A pedestrian ran into the side of a car at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday.

Elizabeth Potter, 34, of Delphos was traveling in her vehicle about 10 mph south on North Jefferson Street beside a line of parked school buses.
