DELPHOS — A driver made a wide turn and hit a car in the other lane at 8:09 p.m. Sunday.

Adam Wollenhaupt, 23, of Delphos was traveling southbound on Main Street when he came to the intersection of Main and Fifth streets. Wollenhaupt attempted to make a right turn into the inside lane but turned too wide and struck Mary Lou Morgan, 84, who was traveling in the inside lane.

No injuries were reported and minor damage was reported on both vehicles.

DELPHOS — A driver failed to yield the right of way causing another car to hit a parked car which led to two other parked cars receiving damage at 8:47 a.m. Saturday morning.

Jerome Burgei, 79, of Delphos was driving westbound on Third Street when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of North Washington and Third streets.

At 10:44 p.m. May 3, a Delphos police officer on patrol observed the driver of a vehicle commit a traffic offense on South Bredeick Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver and passenger. During the investigation of the traffic offense, the officer observed the passenger, 21-year-old Jacob D. Leach of Delphos, to be in possession of an open container of alcohol. The driver of the vehicle was cited for the traffic offense and Leach was issued a citation for open container. He will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court to face the charge.

At 6:13 p.m. April 27, a Delphos police officer on patrol, observed a male known to him as 20-year-old Alex Hummer of Delphos operating a motor vehicle in the 600 block of North Jefferson Street. The officer had prior knowledge that Hummer’s driving status was suspended. After confirming this through dispatch, a traffic stop was conducted. Hummer was issued a citation for non-compliance suspension and released. He will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court to face the charge.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP – The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Van Wert Post is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred at 3:50 p.m. Thursday afternoon on County Road 111, east of the Village of Paulding.

A 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Thomas A. Lantow, 17, of Latty was traveling eastbound County Road 111. The driver lost control of the Pontiac, struck a utility pole and overturned.

Lantow and two passengers were all injured in the crash. The front seat passenger, Riley J. Bidlack, 16 of Paulding was trapped in the vehicle and removed by non-mechanical means.
