Parking incident in Chief’s lot PDF Print

The Delphos Police were dispatched to the parking lot of Chief Supermarket at 1102 Elida Ave. at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday afternoon to take a report on a parking incident.
Witness Tiffany Heidenescher reported that the vehicle driven by Robert Weber, 86, of Delphos, was pulling into a parking space beside the vehicle owned by Victoria Fisher, 55, of Delphos. While turning into the parking space, Weber failed to clear the bumper of the Fisher vehicle, which was unoccupied at the time, and the impact caused functional light damage to the left back bumper area.
The Weber vehicle also sustained functional light damage to the right front bumper area.
Weber was unaware that he had struck the Fisher vehicle.
No citations were issued due to the accident occurring on private property.

At 2:31 p.m. on Sunday, Delphos Police were called to the 900 block of Carolyn Drive in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated someone had gained entry into their vehicle and had taken a large amount of CDs.

At 6:11 a.m. on Wednesday, Delphos Police were called to the 700 block of Harmon Street in reference to a criminal damaging complaint at a residence in that area.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated someone had caused extensive damage to the front door of the residence but did not gain entry into the residence.
The case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.

The following individuals appeared before Judge Charles Steele in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Tuesday
Arraignment
Kevin Clay, 27, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to a Bill of Information charging him with two counts of breaking and entering, both felonies of the fifth degree. This involved business properties at Van Wert Glass and Elmco Engineering. Bond was set at $10,000 cash and sentencing set for March 30.

Sentencing
Kim Mileto, 55, Van Wert, filed a motion to withdraw her guilty plea to attempted forgery, a misdemeanor of the first degree. That motion was denied by the court.
The court then sentenced her on the charge. Her sentence was 1 year community control, 30 days jail at a later date, 50 hours community service, pay restitution to Cashland $1,036 by Aug. 14, pay court costs and partial appointed attorney fees. A jail term of 180 days and $1,000 fine were deferred pending completion of community control

 
Delphos woman arrested for domestic violence PDF Print

At 3:42 p.m. on Sunday, Delphos Police were called to the 700 block of West Clime Street in reference to an active fight in that area.
Upon officers’ arrival, they located the altercation and separated the subjects involved and found enough probable cause to arrest Gail Gibson, 38, of Delphos on charges of domestic violence on a family or household member.
Gibson was transported to the Van Wert County Jail and will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court on the charge.
