Trustees conduct regular business

MARION TOWNSHIP — The Marion Township Trustees held their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday with the following members present: Jerry Gilden, Joseph Youngpeter and Howard Violet.

The purpose of the meeting was to pay bills and conduct ongoing business. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. The trustees then reviewed the bills and gave approval for 14 checks totaling $19,678.77

 
Van Wert YWCA releases travel schedule

VAN WERT — The Van Wert YWCA has some beautiful fall foliage trips planned, which are enjoyable for men and women of all ages.

Group travel takes all the stress out of travel as there are no worries about making plans and reservations, getting tickets or driving in traffic. Reservations can be made by calling the YWCA at 419-238-6639 or by writing or stopping in at 408 East Main St., Van Wert.

 
Free 6-week parenting class begins Sept. 11

VAN WERT — Van Wert County Hospital will offer Active Parenting Now! — a free workshop for parents of children ages 5-12. The six-session video and discussion program will be held on Thursday evenings. Beginning Sept. 11 for six weeks, each session will be held in the hospital’s conference room B&C from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Van Wert Hospital is located at 1250 S. Washington Street.

One Year Ago

Showing and winning are two of the things Jenny Ditto likes best about the fair. This year is a good one for Ditto. She garnered Reserve Champion Market Goat. The daughter of Doug and Janice Ditto got her goat in May and worked with it for four months before taking it to the fair.
