Mr. and Mrs. Bob Elwer of Delphos will celebrate 40 years of marriage on Nov. 23.

They plan to celebrate with their children and grandchildren at a 4:30 p.m. Mass on Nov. 24, followed by a family dinner.

Bob and the former Deb Goedde were married on Nov. 23, 1972, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church by the Rev. Albert Ottenweller.

They have four children, Scott (Chrissy) Elwer, Todd (Jaime) Elwer, Aaron (Chris) Elwer and Lynette (Cory) Haehn, all of Delphos. Their grandchildren are Troy, Hannah and Halle Elwer; Landon, Maya, Easton and Grayson Elwer; Cameron, Andrew and Keaton Elwer; and Madelyn and Emma Haehn.

David and Laura Roach of Delphos announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa, to Jamie Ramsey, son of Roger and Willa Ramsey of Hamilton.

The couple will exchange vows on Nov. 16 at Manor House in Mason.

The bride-elect is a graduate of St. John’s High School and the University of Cincinnati. She is employed by Grainger Corp. in Cincinnati.

Her fiance is a graduate of Hamilton High School and Miami University. He is employed as the assistant director of media relations for the Cincinnati Reds.

Sara Michelle Ardner and Brian John Mueller were united in marriage on Aug. 18, 2012, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, the Rev. Eric Mueller officiating.

The bride’s parents are Kevin and Kelly Ardner of Delphos. The groom’s parents are Ronald and Ann Mueller of Delphos.

Nuptial music was provided by vocalist Charles Knippen and organist Lynn Bockey.

Matron of honor was Melissa Maag of Ottawa, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Amy Tolson of Perrysburg and Tracy Mueller of Cincinnati, sisters of the groom; Jessica Mueller of Findlay, sister-in-law of the groom; Ashley Rode of Delphos, cousin of the bride; and Courtney Landin of Fort Jennings, friend of the couple.

Flower girls were Carleigh Maag of Ottawa, goddaughter of the bride; and Addyson Van Horn of Findlay and Nevaeh Rhoades of Bellefontaine, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Mark Mueller of Findlay, brother of the groom.

Groomsmen were Nick Ardner of Delphos, brother of the bride; David Tolson of Perrysburg, brother-in-law of the groom; Benjamin Maag of Ottawa, brother-in-law of the bride; Nathan Stant of Delphos, friend of the couple; and Matt Ricker of Findlay, friend of the couple.

Grandparents of the couple are Charles and Helen Ardner, Gail and Barbara Burget and the late Nancy Burget, Norman and Alice Knippen and the late Oliver and the late Amilda Mueller.

A reception was held at the Delphos K of C hall immediately following the ceremony.

Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple reside in Delphos.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of St. John’s High School and is employed by the Van Wert License Bureau.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Findlay High School and is employed by Raabe Ford Lincoln.

Karen Kraft of Campbell and Bob Kraft and Jeannie Shaw of Williamsport announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Kraft, to Douglas Drerup, son of Dave and Martha Drerup of Delphos.

The couple will exchange vows in a November wedding at Our Lady of Perpetual Hope in Grove City.

The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Marshall University with a bachelor of arts in accounting. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She manages her family’s bridal shop in Columbus.

Her fiance is a 2004 graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. He is employed as an engineer with Yazaki North America.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Spears of Delphos celebrated 60 years of marriage on Oct. 18.

They celebrated with a family dinner at an area restaurant and a trip to southern Ohio.

Earl and the former Cora Paddock were united in marriage on Oct. 18, 1952, in the Baptist Church in Bingham, Ill., the Rev. Clifford Huffman officiating.

They are the parents of Brenda (Bob) Wetherington; Sally (Joe) Martin, Jeanette (Thomas) Simmons and Lindell (Susan) Spears. They also have 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Earl retired from the railroad and Cora is a housewife.
