DELPHOS — On Jan. 11, officers took two separate reports from complainant’s in reference to debit cards they received that they did not request.

On Jan. 13, officers were sent to a residence on West Clime Street in reference to a male that was threatening to harm himself. Officers located the male and he was transported to the hospital by Delphos Fire and Rescue.

On Jan. 15, officers took a report from a female who stated that her brother was threatening her.

On Jan. 15, officers took a report from a female who stated that she was visiting a residence on Holland Avenue and during that time, someone stole her wallet from her purse.

On Jan. 18, officers and Delphos Fire and Rescue were sent to a residence to locate a juvenile female who had attempted to harm herself. The female was located and transported to the hospital for treatment.

On Jan. 19, officers were sent to a residence after receiving a complaint of a possible domestic violence incident. Officers spoke with a male and female at the residence and found that no physical altercation had taken place. The female left the residence for the night.

On Jan. 19, officers were sent to a residence on King Street in reference to a male in the area possibly throwing items, causing damage. Officers located the male but were unable to identify what was thrown or if there was any damage. The male was asked to leave the area.

On Jan. 23, a male called requesting police assistance on South Canal Street. The male told officers that his neighbor broke a section out of their shared fence. The male was advised that this is a civil matter that would have to be settled in civil court.

On Jan. 24, officers were sent to a residence on West Second Street for a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with a male and female. Officers found that an argument began over a child custody exchange. The male was asked to leave the residence after returning the children.

On Jan. 25, officers took a report from a female who stated that someone had attempted to file for unemployment benefits using her information.

On Jan. 26, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the traffic stop, officers found probable cause to arrest the driver, 18-year-old Devan Samons of Delphos, for operating the vehicle while impaired.

On Jan.27, a female requested a report for an identity theft. The female told officers that someone filed two unemployment claims using her deceased fathers’ information.

On Jan. 29. a male and female contacted the police department to report that two fraudulent accounts had been opened in their names. Debits cards were sent to each of them, but no theft occurred from their bank accounts.

On Jan. 29, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver commit a traffic offense. During the traffic stop, officers found that the driver, 45-year-old David Jason Clark of Lima, had a warrant out of Hardin County and was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Officers also found Clark to be in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Clark was issued a citation and released. He will be facing further charges pending the outcome of testing on the suspected methamphetamine.

On Jan. 30, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver commit a traffic offense. The driver, 42-year-old Beverly Rahrig of Spencerville, was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Rahrig was issued a summons to appear in court for suspicion of possession of a Schedule 1 or 2 Drug.

On Feb. 2, officers took a report from a male who found that someone applied for unemployment benefits using his personal information.

On Feb. 4, officers were sent to speak with a female juvenile who stated she wished to harm herself. The female was located and turned over to her grandmother.

On Feb. 4, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the traffic stop, officers found the driver to be in possession of suspected THC. The suspected THC was collected as evidence and the case remains open.

On Saturday, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver commit a traffic offense. During the traffic stop, officers found the driver, Ryan Bendele of Ottoville, to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Bendele was issued a citation for OVI and will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court to face the charge.

On Monday, officers took a report from a male who received a letter stating that they received his unemployment benefits request. The male did not file for the unemployment.

On Monday, officers spoke with a female who was the victim of a scam. The female was contacted by phone advising her that her phone had been hacked. The caller requested her bank account information to correct the problem, which she provided. The female was advised to cancel her bank accounts immediately.

On Monday, Delphos Officers were asked to assist in locating a suspected impaired driver in Allen County. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, officers found the impaired driver to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. Deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office arrived and took over the investigation.
