VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:
Tuesday
Judicial release hearing
Amber Owens,
35, Van Wert, was granted judicial release from her 30-month prison
sentence for tampering with evidence and possession of cocaine, both
felony 3. She was placed on three years community control, two years
intensive probation, 30 days jail at later date, substance abuse and
mental health evaluation and treatment, no alcohol, illegal drugs or
prescription drugs without a prescription. She was also ordered to pay
partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fees and court costs.
Wednesday
Arraignment (All entered not guilty pleas)
Brandi Runyon, 29, Van Wert, possession of heroin, a felony 5; and aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5.
Released on surety bond. Pretrial set for March 3.
Sherry Ramsey, 44, Van Wert, theft, a felony 5. Released on surety bond. Pretrial set for March 1.
Ethan Mezuk,
30, Convoy, possession of heroin, a felony 5; and possession of
fentanyl-related compound, a felony 5. Released on surety bond. Pretrial
set for March 1.
Change of plea
Eliza Shaner,
20, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to obstructing justice, a
felony 5. She then requested, and was granted, Intervention in Lieu of
Conviction and her case was stayed pending completion of the treatment
program. Cash bond continued until in-patient treatment begins.
Coy McConnell,
24, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to aggravated possession of
drugs, a felony 5. He was then sentenced to three years community
control, 200 hours community service, 30 days jail at a future date,
seek employment, substance abuse and mental health assessment, two years
intensive probation and was ordered to pay court costs, partial
appointed counsel fees, and monthly probation fee.
