DELPHOS — Make 2020 the year to invest in yourself and your future with the help of the Aspire program.

Apollo Career Center offers free day and evening classes for adult learners at different locations in Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, Putnam, Van Wert and Paulding counties.

Aspire classes are a stepping stone for students to transition to the next chapter in their lives. Refresh your basic academic skills in reading, math, or language to help earn your GED or High School Diploma, enter a skills training program at Apollo Career Center, obtain a job, and/or retain your current job.

New Aspire students are required to attend an orientation for entry into the program. Students ages 16-18 must pre-register for orientation. The next Delphos orientation will begin Tuesday, March 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Delphos Public Library. The orientation will share the requirements and offerings of the free Aspire program.

Test requirements will be shared for those wanting to take the GED® test. The test is made up of four sections, which are Math, Reasoning through Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. The instructors can help prepare students for the test by offering: free pretests, computer instruction, and individual subject instruction to meet the requirements to pass the new GED® test. The test is $120, but an $80 voucher is being offered for students to take the official test.

Free Aspire instruction is also available for students who have a High School Diploma, but want to update their basic academic and workforce skills.
