DELPHOS — On Wednesday around 11 a.m., Delphos City Schools was made aware of a
possible threat being made over social media in reference to a high school student possibly committing
an act of violence directed at Jefferson High School. This
potential threat was discovered by high school students which notified the administration, who then notified the Delphos Police Department.
The student in question was contained with the student being searched
as well as all belongings in the locker. The administration worked
with Delphos Police Department to start an investigation.
After
the police department met with the student and assessed the home,
they came to the conclusion that this was not a credible threat. There
was no access to weapons at home and the police confirmed this.
Due to the fact that this is still under investigation, Delphos City
Schools will have no further comment. All questions should be directed
to the Delphos Police Department.
