DELPHOS — On Feb. 16, an officer on patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a license plate violation. During the traffic stop, officers found probable cause to arrest the driver, Corey Sidey of Spencerville, for operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Sidey was issued a citation for OVI and improper display. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charges.

On Feb. 16, officers responded to the 500 block of North Canal Street in reference to a stolen motor vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, officers met with the vehicle owner and found the vehicle was taken sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. from her driveway. On Sunday, the stolen vehicle was located in an alley in the 200 block of North Cass Street. The vehicle was taken to the police department and processed for potential evidence. The incident remains under investigation.

On Feb. 16, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of south Clay Street for a theft complaint. Officers spoke with the resident and found that someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and removed multiple items from inside. A second report was taken from a vehicle owner in the 200 block of West Second Street, whose vehicle was also broken into. The victim stated that cash and other items were taken from the vehicle. These incidents remain under investigation.

On Feb. 16, officers responded to a domestic dispute complaint. Officers spoke to a female who stated that her mother came to her residence and tried to assault her. Officers spoke to the female’s mother and after speaking with both of them it was determined that no charges would be pursued.

On Feb. 16, officers were sent to the 500 block of Moening Street in reference to a domestic dispute between a father and his 18-year-old daughter. Officers arrived and met with the father, who stated that his daughter wanted to leave the residence for the evening and he did not want her to go. Officers explained that the female is an adult and can leave if she so chooses. This upset the male and an argument ensued. Officers stood by while the female gathered some items to leave the residence.

On Sunday, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a traffic violation. Officers made contact with the driver, Juan Valle of Convoy, and after a subsequent investigation, found probable cause to arrest him for operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Valle was issued a citation for OVI and speed. He was also cited for having a court suspension of his driver’s license. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charges.

On Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Clay Street to investigate a domestic violence complaint. Officers arrived and met with a female at the residence. She stated that she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument the previous day and that incident turned into a physical altercation. She stated that on Sunday, the two began to argue again and she called the police fearing it could turn physical again. The male left the residence prior to officers arriving. A report will be forwarded to the Van Wert Municipal Court Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges.

On Sunday, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the vehicle being operated without headlights. During the traffic stop, officers found probable cause to arrest the driver, Nicole Lloyd of Delphos, for operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Lloyd was issued a citation for OVI, license forfeiture suspension and headlights required. She will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court to face the charges.

On Monday, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a registration violation. During the traffic stop, officers found that the registered owner, 28-year-old Brice D. Dreher of Coshocton, had an active warrant for violating a protection order. Dreher was taken into custody and transported to the Allen County Jail.

On Monday, officers took a report from a male in the 400 block of South Clay Street. He stated that his vehicle had been broken into on Feb. 15, but he just noticed today that a black duffle bag was missing from inside. He stated that the bag contained multiple items.

On Monday, officers were sent to the 1000 block of Lima Avenue in reference to an irate female attempting to gain access to an apartment. Officers arrived, escorted the female out of the building and began speaking with the residents of the apartment. They stated that the female is related to them and has been having mental issues. The female stated that she was there to pick up her grandson and was denied. Officers ordered the female to leave the property and not return. No charges were pursued.

On Thursday, officers were dispatched to a business in East Second Street in reference to a male who had entered the building and was irate. Officers arrived and met with the male along with employees at the business. Officers began speaking with the male and immediately found that the male was exhibiting a mental illness. Delphos Fire and Rescue was contacted to transport the male to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
