DELPHOS — On Aug. 29, officers met with a father in reference to his child being unruly and refusing to go to school. Officers assisted in getting the juvenile to go to school. Officers were called back later after it was found that the juvenile was possibly under the influence of an illegal substance. The juvenile’s room was searched and suspected illegal substances were located. The juvenile faces disciplinary action through the school as well as Juvenile Court.

On Aug. 30, officers met with a female in reference to a theft complaint. The female told officers that a youth soccer goal was stolen from behind her residence. Officers were able to locate the juvenile responsible for removing the goal and it was returned to the owner.

On Aug. 30, officers met with a male in the 700 block of East Second Street, who had been bitten by a dog. The male told officers that he came outside of his residence and observed the dog, which began to chase him. The dog bit the male in the leg, but was captured and restrained.

On Aug. 31, officers responded to the report of an active fight taking place on West Clime Street in the 700 block. Upon officers arrival the fight was no longer active. Officers spoke with all parties involved and it was determined that no one wished to pursue charges.

On Sunday, officers were sent to the 100 block of North Main Street in reference to a menacing complaint. The complainant told officers that three subjects were visiting him in his apartment when one of them threatened to assault him. The complainant wanted the three subjects to leave his residence. Officers located one male, who was told to leave and the other two had left prior to officers arrival.

On Tuesday, officers were dispatched to Delphos Ambulatory Care for a female with burns on her legs. Officers met with the female and found that the incident had occurred in the 1400 block of South Clay Street. Officers proceeded to that location and spoke with a male resident. He stated that he had started the fire in an attempt to hurt himself and the female was injured while assisting him. The male was transported to the hospital as well for burns sustained and a mental evaluation. The incident remains under investigation.

On Tuesday, a female came to the police department to report an incident which occurred with her soon to be ex-husband. The female told officers she arrived home and got into a verbal altercation with her husband. She stated that her husband pushed her, but did not injure her. The female did not wish to pursue charges, but wanted the incident (which took place two prior to reporting it) documented.

On Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Skinner Street to investigate a dog attacking another dog. Officers arrived and spoke with the complainant who advised that her dog was killed by a neighbor's dog. Officers spoke with the neighbor, who confirmed the complainant’s story. The Van Wert County Dog Warden was contacted and will be investigating the incident.

On Wednesday, officers met with a female in the 200 block of Holland Avenue in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. Officers spoke with the female and found that an unknown person had thrown a brick through her window. The incident remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a business in the 1100 block of Elida Avenue for a shoplifting complaint. Officers arrived at the business and met with employees. They stated that a female entered the store and concealed an item in her purse. She then left without paying for the item. Video from security cameras was viewed and the female was identified as 38-year-old Lacy Sheets of Delphos. Officers located Sheets and retrieved the stolen item. She was issued a summons to appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge of theft.

On Wednesday, a male contacted the police department to report a theft of his property. The male told officers that he had given a key to three people who had been staying at his apartment. The male stated that they were to remove their property from his apartment, but also took items belonging to him. The incident was document for future civil action.

On Wednesday, a male reported that his pop-up camper was stolen from a property where he stored it. The camper was entered into a law enforcement database as stolen.

On Wednesday, a male reported that someone had entered his vehicle and stole items from inside. The vehicle was parked in the 1100 block of North Washington Street. The incident remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the male operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. The male, 20-year-old Andrez Reed of Delphos, was issued a citation for an FRA Suspension. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge.

On Thursday, officers responded to the 100 block of North West Street in reference to a Domestic dispute. Officers arrived and met with a male and female, who were in a dispute with their daughter and her boyfriend who all live at the residence together. There was no physical assault involved and no charges will be pursued.
