DELPHOS — On Sept. 20, a male contacted the police department stating that he received a call that his vehicle was taken from his residence while he was not home. Officers obtained the vehicle information and began searching the area for it. Approximately three hours later, the complainant called and stated that the vehicle had been returned. The complainant gave officers the name of a person who may have taken the vehicle without his permission and the incident remains under investigation.

On Sept. 20, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver commit a traffic violation. During the investigation of the traffic stop, officers found probable cause to arrest the driver, Leonard Hohlbein of Kentucky, for operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Hohlbein will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charges of speeding and OVI.

On Sept. 21, officers received a complaint from a juvenile female stating that an elderly male tried to force her into an alley on North Main Street. Officers located the male moments later and detained him and conducted a field interview with him. After receiving statements from all parties involved, it was determined that the male would be released due to not having probable cause for an arrest at the time. A report was written and forwarded to the prosecutor’s office. Once the prosecutor reviews all of the information they will make a determination what, if any, charge will be filed.

On Sunday, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver commit a traffic offense. During the investigation of the traffic stop, officers found probable cause to arrest the driver, Lissette Cordero of Delphos, for operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Cordero will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charges of failure to signal and OVI.

On Sunday, officers received information of a possible intoxicated driver at a business on West Fifth Street. Officers located the male in a parked vehicle. The male, identified as Jaime Arteaga Ramos of Delphos, was arrest on probable cause of being in physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charges of no driver’s license and physical control.

On Sunday, officers received a complaint of a possible altercation on East Second Street. Officers located several individuals and found that a male allegedly made an inappropriate comment to a juvenile female and an argument ensued. This case is being reviewed by the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.

On Sunday, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of South Clay Street for a report of an ungovernable juvenile. Officers spoke with the juvenile’s parents and they stated that the juvenile is habitually unruly. Officers found that the juvenile is on probation and a report was forwarded to his probation officer for investigation.

On Monday, officers spoke to a male who reported a theft incident. The male told officers that an item was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the 100 block of East Second Street.

On Monday, officers were sent to the 1100 block of North Clay Street in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. The homeowner stated that a screen was damaged on her home.

On Wednesday, a male reported an item removed from his vehicle. Later that evening, the male found the item returned to him in his mailbox.

On Wednesday, officers met with a female at the police department who reported a dispute that occurred at her residence in the 600 block of South Washington Street. The female told officers that her brother threatened to assault her and took an item from her. Officers later responded to the residence and spoke with the female’s brother and their mother. After receiving conflicting accounts of the incident, it was determined that no charges would be pursued.
