DELPHOS —  A Delphos man remains hospitalized following a dump truck-semi accident Monday morning in Auglaize County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Joseph P. Menster, 54, of Delphos was traveling eastbound on US 33 when a semi driven by Robert A. Eshelman, 52, of New Carlisle was stopped at the stop sign on the Interstate 75 northbound exit ramp to US 33. The semi driver did no see the dump truck approaching and pulled from the stop sign and was struck by the dump truck.

Menster was trapped inside the cab of the truck for approximately one hour.

Once freed, Menster was transported by Mercy Health Life Flight to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo.

Eshelman was not injured.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
