VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Arraignment

Benjamin McIntosh, 42, Delphos, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of possession of cocaine, a felony 5. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for Nov. 7.

Monday

Sentencing

Johnathan Putman, 32, Van Wert, OVI, a misdemeanor 1. Sentenced to: two years community control, one year intensive probation, 180 days jail beginning Dec. 29 with work release, 120 days jail suspended, substance abuse assessment and treatment, he was fined $850 and ordered to pay costs and monthly probation fee. His driver’s license suspended for six years.

Bond violation

Adam Blatteau, 37, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by failing to report to probation. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for Oct. 30.

Wednesday

Arraignment

Patrick Dennis, 24, Detroit, entered a not guilty plea to grand theft motor vehicle, a felony 4. His bond was set at $5,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial set for Nov. 7.

Violations

Cyle Black, 32, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond and treatment in lieu program by failing to report and failing to complete counseling. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety and sentencing set for Nov. 28.

Brian Spranger, 31, Delphos, admitted to violating his community control by being convicted of OVI. Sentencing set for Nov. 21 and surety bond set effective Monday, if on alcohol sensing electronic house arrest at that time.

Competency hearing

Anthony Sexton, 54, Van Wert, was again found competent to stand trial following a second evaluation done this time at the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital. Trial will be scheduled.

Time waiver

Johnny Bowersock, 54, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial set for Nov. 14.

Bailey Parker, 19, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial set for Nov. 21.
