VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Oct. 26

Bond violation

Toree Riddle, 31, Ft. Wayne, admitted to violating her bond by failing to report to probation. She was re-released on a surety bond with waiver of extradition and pretrial was set for Nov. 14.

Time waiver

Randy Parker, 37, Van Wert, entered a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial set for Dec. 3.

Monday

Arraignment

Kayla Lee, 31, Paulding, entered a not guilty plea to Possession of Cocaine, F5. She was released on surety bond with PT set for 11/14/18 @ 9 am.

Bond violation

Brandon Decker 21, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by failing to appear for court and to report to probation. He entered a plea of Guilty to a Prosecutor’s Bill of Information charging him with aggravated assault, a felony 4. He also changed his plea to guilty to a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 3. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Dec. 19.

Tuesday

Jury trial

Antonio Freeling, 36, Van Wert, was found not guilty of a felony 1 rape after a two-day jury trial. The State of Ohio was represented by the Van Wert County Prosecutor’s Office and the defendant by Attorney Danny Hill of Defiance.

Wednesday

Arraignment

Jesse Blackburn, 27, Delphos, entered a not guilty plea to trespass in a habitation, a felony 4. He was released on a surety bond with an order to have no contact with the victim and not be at victim’s residence. Pretrial set for Nov. 14.

Time waiver

Douglas Lambert, 46, Ottawa, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial was set for Jan. 16.

Ashley Workman, 34, Lima, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare her case. Pretrial was set for Jan. 16.

Changes of pleas

Jessie Zartman, 40, Toledo, Aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5, changed her plea to guilty and then requested and was granted Treatment in Lieu of Conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Houston Young, 36, Mount Airy, North Carolina, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5, changed his plea to guilty, and then requested and was granted Treatment in Lieu of Conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

David Leach, 27, Delphos, changed his plea to guilty to three counts of gross sexual imposition, each a felony 3. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Dec. 12.

Sentencing

Jason Boyd, 37, Van Wert, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5. Sentenced to: 120 days jail and was ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees plus costs. Credit for 38 days served.

Michael Malone, 33, Van Wert, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5. Sentenced to: three years community control, 30 days jail at a later date, 200 hours community service, no alcohol or illegal drugs, random drug tests, two years intensive probation and was ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee and costs.

Dusty Waltmire, 37, Van Wert, possession of cocaine, a felony 3. Sentenced to: three years community control, 60 days jail at a later date, pay all child support, 200 hours community service, substance abuse assessment and treatment, two years intensive probation and was ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee and costs.

Dwayne Watts, 32, Ottawa, probation violation. Sentenced to 180 days jail on each of two counts, consecutive, credit for 175 days served.

Ecco Burker, 33, Van Wert, two counts of forgery a felony 5. Sentenced: five years community control on each case, concurrent, up to six months at WORTH Center, 30 days jail at later date, 200 hours community service, no alcohol or illegal drugs, random testing, substance abuse assessment and treatment, three years intensive probation and was ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee and costs.

Violations

Kara Young, 35, Van Wert, admitted to violating her bond and treatment in lieu program by testing positive for drugs. She was ordered held in jail until 10 a.m. Thursday, when she entered a treatment program in Dayton.
