VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:


Time waiver

Oscar Barrios, 29, Edgerton, Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial set for Feb. 14.

Change of plea

Thomas Norman II, 56, Wren, changed his plea to guilty to an amended charge of illegal cultivation of marijuana. a felony 5. He then requested, and was granted, Intervention in Lieu of Conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.


Change of plea

Cody Robbins, 29, Ft. Wayne, changed his plea to guilty to carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor 1; and driving under suspension, a misdemeanor 1. He was then sentenced to: one year community control, one year intensive probation and ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee and court costs. Brass knuckles and a handgun were forfeited.

Christina Donate McClure, 29, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to attempted aggravated possession of drugs, a misdemeanor 1, (reduced from aggravated possession of drugs, felony 5.) She was then sentenced to: two years community control, 30 days jail at a later date, 50 hours community service and was ordered to pay monthly probation fee, partial appointed counsel fees and costs.

Time waiver

Ashley Burk, 30, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare her case. Pretrial set for Feb. 13.


Milo Holt Jr., 20, Van Wert, admitted violating his probation by refusing the WORTH Center treatment and signing himself out of the program. He was sentenced to: 180 days jail with credit for 15 days served. Work release was denied.


Christopher Stemen, 34, Van Wert, grand theft motor vehicle, a felony 4; and failure to register as sex offender, a felony 4. Sentenced to: 17 months prison on each count, concurrent, credit for 64 days served; and ordered to pay court costs and restitution to victim for $275.
