VAN WERT – The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Monday

Bond/TIL violations

Robert Thompson, 35, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond and his treatment in lieu program by failing to appear for drug testing and admitting drug use. The Court reinstated his treatment in lieu program for a new one year period beginning today and released him on a surety bond.

Blaine Fromm, 28, Lima, admitted to violating his bond and his treatment in lieu program by failing to complete treatment and by failing to appear for drug testing. The Court set his bond at $5,000 cash or commercial surety and set sentencing for Feb. 6 after completion of a pre-sentence investigation.

Wednesday

Arraignments (all entered not guilty pleas)

Philip Raines Sr., 30, Van Wert, two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, each a felony 3; two counts of corrupting another with drugs, each a felony 4; and two counts of corrupting another with drugs, each a felony 2. He was released on a surety bond with an order to have no contact with victims or their families. PT 1/30/19 @ 8 am.

Robert Rupert, 37, Van Wert, two counts of permitting child abuse, a felony 3. He was released on a surety bond with an order to follow all juvenile court orders. Pretrial was set for Jan. 30.

Thomas Rupert, 64, Van Wert, rape, a felony 1; gross sexual imposition, a felony 3; gross sexual imposition, a felony 4; sexual battery a felony 3; and sexual battery, a felony 2. He was released on a surety bond with an order to have no contact with victims. Pretrial was set for Jan. 30.

Lester Sulfridge Jr., 59, Van Wert, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a felony 3, with a specification charging that he is a report OVI offender; and endangering children, a misdemeanor 1. He was released on a surety bond with an order to not operate any vehicle. Pretrial was set for Jan. 30.

Changes of pleas

Samantha Lacy, 26, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Feb. 13.

Paula Garcia, 62, Van Wert, entered a guilty plea to a Prosecutor’s Bill of Information charging her with possession of criminal tools, a felony 5, with a specification that she used a 25 caliber pistol in the offense. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Feb. 13.

Bradley Sheets, 37, Convoy, changed his plea to guilty to receiving stolen property, a felony 4; aggravated trafficking drugs, a felony 3; and burglary, a felony 2. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Feb. 27.

Bond violation

Corey Elston, 28, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond and his treatment in lieu program by having a positive drug test. The court continued his treatment in lieu program for one more year from today.

Sentencing

Dustin Stuckey, 33, Middle Point was sentenced for possession of heroin, a felony 5. He was sentenced: three years community control, up to six months at WORTH Center, 30 days jail at later date, two years intensive probation and was ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee and costs.
