VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Nov. 22

Arraignments

Faith Sevitz, 39, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5; possession of heroin, a felony 5; and possession of a fentanyl related compound, a felony 5. She was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for Dec. 11.

Nathan Dunn, 37, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 3; possession of a fentanyl related compound, a felony 5; complicity in trafficking, a felony 3; permitting drug abuse, a felony 5; and aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for Dec. 11.

Bond violation

Colby Black, 35, Ohio City, admitted to violating his bond by failing to report to jail as ordered to serve his sentence. He was ordered to jail to serve his 120 days sentence with credit for 30 days already served.

Tuesday

Change of plea

Caleb Geise, 27, Delphos, changed his plea to guilty to trespass in a habitation, a felony 4. Related charges were dismissed for his plea. He then requested, and was granted, intervention in lieu of conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Wednesday

Changes of plea

Charles Jenkins, 42, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to aggravated trafficking drugs, a felony 3; and possession of heroin, a felony 5. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Jan. 22.

Amanda LaBounty, 36, Payne, changed her plea to guilty to 2 counts of Falsification, M1. The Court set sentencing for 12/18/19 @ 9 am.

Candelario Jimmie Benavidez, 67, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to illegal use of minor in nudity oriented performance, a felony 5. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Jan. 22.

Sentencings

Chad Harter, 41, Willshire, felonious assault, a felony 5. Sentenced to 2 — to 4 ½ years prison, with credit 194 days served. He was also ordered to pay court costs

Dillon Nihiser, 23, Van Wert, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5; and theft, a felony 5. He was sentenced to 180 days on each charge, consecutive, with credit for 58 days served.

Calvin Placke, 25, Convoy, trafficking marijuana a felony 5; possession of hashish, a felony 5. Sentenced to three years community control, 30 days jail beginning Jan, 4, work release, substance abuse assessment and treatment, additional 30 days jail at later date, 200 hours community service, two years intensive probation, forfeit $1,993 used in the crime and pay partial appointed counsel fees, costs and monthly probation fee.

Ashley Carr, 19, Van Wert, aggravated trafficking drugs, a felony 2. Sentenced to 3-4 ½ years prison, with credit for 199 days served. Possession of fentanyl related compound, a felony 5. Sentenced to 12 months prison with credit for 24 days served, concurrent. She was also ordered to pay court costs.

Jay Yoh, 60, Van Wert, improper handling firearm in motor vehicle, a felony 4; and OVI a misdemeanor. Sentenced to three years community control; 10 days jail beginning Dec. 3; substance abuse and assessment; license suspended one year from Aug. 1; 9 mm pistol forfeited to VWPD; and was ordered to pay fine of $525, monthly probation fee, partial appointed counsel fees, and costs.
