VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Jan. 23

Change of plea

Christopher Carpenter, 19, Decatur, Indiana, changed his plea to guilty to two counts of gross sexual imposition, a felony 3. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for March 6.

Jan. 24

Bond violations

Christina Donate-McClure, 30, Van Wert, admitted to violating her bond by possessing or using harmful intoxicants. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial scheduled for Jan. 29.

Justin Reiley, 37, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by failing to appear for his pre-sentence interview at probation. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or commercial surety and the matter was previously scheduled for sentencing on the underlying case for Feb. 19.

Jan. 28

Arraignment

Kimberly Miller, 54, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to theft from a person in a protected class, a felony 3. Released on Surety bond with pretrial on Feb. 19.

Work release violation

Josh Carroll, 32, Van Wert, appeared for a hearing on a work release violation. He admitted using a cell phone while at work while prohibited. Work release was reinstated.

Probation violation

Kollin Taylor, 19, Van Wert, admitted to violating his probation by being unsuccessfully terminated from WORTH Center. He was sentenced to: three years community control from Jan. 28, 2020, returned to WORTH Center to finish program, 200 hours community service, two years intensive probation, all other previous orders remain in effect and he was ordered to pay costs and monthly probation fee.

Sentencing

Phillip Graves, 26, Columbus, failure to register, a felony 4. Sentenced to: nine months prison, with credit for 82 days served and ordered to pay court costs.

Jered Panning, 21, Van Wert, two counts aggravated trafficking drugs, each a felony 4. Sentenced to: 16 month prison with credit for 94 days served on each count, concurrent, and was ordered to pay court costs, partial appointed counsel fees.

Phillip Vickery, 29, Decatur, trafficking fentanyl related compound, a felony 4; and two counts aggravated trafficking drugs, each a felony 3, with specifications for forfeiture of money used in the commission of the crimes. Sentenced to: 24 months prison for each count of aggravated trafficking drugs, 18 months prison for the Fentanyl count, concurrent, with credit for 21 days served, $60 forfeited to Van Wert Sheriff’s Office and was ordered to pay court costs.
