VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Jan. 31


Courtney Palmateer, 19, Cincinnati, entered a not guilty plea to counterfeiting, a felony 4. She was released on surety bond with pretrial on March 4

Changes of pleas

Alexandria Fletter, 21, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5; and possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor 2. She then requested and was granted Intervention in Lieu of Conviction and her case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Feb. 4

Jury trial

Ashley Lewis, 40, Convoy, was found Guilty on 2 of 3 counts of Gross Sexual Imposition (not guilty on the third count) following a two-day jury trial. The court changed his bond to $250,000 cash or commercial surety, ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for March 19.

Bill of Information

Justin Reiley, 37, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to a Prosecutor’s Bill of Information charging him with unauthorized use of motor vehicle, a misdemeanor 1. The Court set sentencing for Feb. 19.


Changes of pleas

Christina Hemker, 31, Fort Jennings, changed her plea to guilty to receiving stolen property, a felony 4; and failure to comply with the order of a police officer (fleeing), a felony 3.

Samantha Lacy, 27, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to aggravated possession of drugs (meth), a felony 5. She was then sentenced to: 90 days jail and ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.
