VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:



Joshua D. Wolfe, 43, Willshire, was sentenced on four counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, each a felony 4; and two counts of sexual imposition, a misdemeanor 3. Sentenced to 18 months prison for each count of disseminating, consecutive to each other, with credit for 416 days already served. Sentenced to 90 days jail for each sexual imposition charge, concurrent to each other and concurrent to the disseminating charges with credit for 90 days already served, for a total of 72 months prison less the 416 days credit. Wolfe must register as a Tier 1 sex offender. He was also ordered to pay court costs.


Bill of Information

Phillip Erik Schmidt, 47, Celina, entered a plea of guilty to a Prosecutor’s Bill of Information charging him with aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor 1.

Hearing to withdraw plea

Mark Eberle, 42, Van Wert, appeared for a hearing on defendant’s motion to withdraw his plea on his conviction/plea for OVI. Matter taken under advisement.

Bond violation

Milo Holt, Jr., 21, Van Wert, admitted violating his bond by failing a drug test. Bond set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial set for Sept. 23.



James Hayhurst II, 35, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to domestic violence, a felony 4. He was released on a surety bond with an order to have no contact with alleged victim, Desma Chesbro. Pretrial set Oct. 7.
