DELPHOS — The Wildcats lost 54-8 on Friday to NWC rival Allen East. The Mustangs played spoiler with a one-sided contest on Jefferson’s Homecoming night.

“Allen East was more physical than we were,” said Jefferson head coach Ben Rahrig. “We had some bad things happen and let the game get away from us. We need to treat next week like a brand new week and play hard. We go back to work on Monday.”

Bryce Belcher of Allen East punched in a one-yard run for the first score of the game to make it 6-0. The two-point conversion failed and left things at 6-0.

Colin Bailey had the only touchdown for the Wildcats on the night with a 75-yard run. Logan Hubert found J.T. Taviano on a pass for the two-point conversion and gave Jefferson an 8-6 lead in the first quarter.

The Mustangs found the endzone two more times in the first that included an 85-yard kick return by Carter Young. The score held at 20-8 after the first 12:00 of action.

Allen East jumped out to a 41-8 advantage at halftime. Belcher had a passing and rushing touchdown as the Mustangs poured it on before the break.

Bradden Crumrine caught a pass from Belcher to make it 48-8 in the third quarter. Keaton Miller added another touchdown in the fourth to bring the score to 54-8.

Jefferson falls to 1-5 (0-3 NWC) on the year and Allen East improves to 5-1 (2-1 NWC).

The Wildcats will be back in action Friday when they travel to Paulding.
