DELPHOS — The Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its second annual Farmers Market.

The markets will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays June through September in the empty lot and surrounding area at Fourth and Main streets.

Vendors secured for this year so far include: Swiss Country Market with fresh produce and Amish baked goods; Golden Bell Harvest with fresh produce; Maw- N- Paw Pork Rinds; O’Sister Jam & Jellies; food trucks Over the Rainbow and Tom’s Hot Dogs; The Grind Café & Coffee House; Merrill Marie Soapworks; Jo25 Naturals featuring natural skin care products; Delicious Delights with cupcakes and cookies; Katie’s Kandies with baked goods and chocolates; Mike’s Homemade Caramels; Landeck Cattle Company; and Noble Goose Bakehouse.

“We are so pleased that participation in the market has almost doubled from last year and we hope it continues to grow, there’s still room for more,” Chamber Executive Director Maria Diltz said. “We thank all those vendors who are returning and welcome the new ones.”

She added that the markets are needed in communities.

“Farmers markets are critical for many reasons. They help our area farmers profit, encourage a new generation to take up farming and it can be a positive meeting place for members of the community and provide a friendly social event,” Diltz explained. “Farmers Market customers want their farmers and their families to succeed. It is the customer, the residents of Delphos, that make the market successful.”

The Delphos Public Library Youth Service Librarian Rachel Strahm will also be at each Farmers Market with a unique craft for children to make.

If you are a farmer, a baker, a crafter or have a special homemade product you would like to sell at the market, contact Maria Diltz at the Delphos Chamber of Commerce at 419-695-1771 or email mdiltz@delphoschamber.com.

In addition to the chamber, sponsors of the farmers market include Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center and Allen County Public Health.
