DELPHOS — The Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for the new Chamber awards to be given out at the annual dinner on March 2 at the Delphos Eagles.

Nominations were taken in four categories: Non-profit Business/Club of the Year, Community Involvement Business of the Year, Economic Impact Business of the Year and Small Business of the Year.

Finalists for the Non-profit Business/Club of the Year are Delphos Senior Citizens and Kiwanis Club of Delphos. Other nominees included: Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Delphos Social Club; Delphos Canal Commission; Delphos Public Library; Delphos Running Club; MAV Youth Mentoring; and Optimist Club.

Community Involvement Business of the Year finalists are K&M Tire and First Federal Bank. Art Me Ohio, Delphos ACE Hardware, Coins, Currency Collectibles - Black Swamp, Schrader Realty, Superior Credit Union, The Schulte Group, Toledo Molding and Die and Westrich Furniture were also nominated.

Finalists for Economic Impact Business of the Year are Toledo Molding and Die and K&M Tire. Other nominees included: Art Me Ohio, Lakeview Farms and Schulte Group.

Small Business of the Year finalists are Delphos ACE Hardware and Kosta’s Topp Chalet. Art Me Ohio, Cabo Restaurant, Coins, Currency and Collectibles - Black Swamp, Dairy Hut, Delphos Discount Drugs, Delphos Recreation Center, Flowers on Fifth, Junk Girl Shop, Pitsenbarger Supply, Schrader Realty, Tech Guy Solutions, The Schulte Group and Westrich Furniture were also nominated.

Chamber Executive Co-Director Maria Diltz and Chamber President Angie Gable presided over the press conference Friday morning.

“Congratulations to all the nominees and the finalists,” the pair said.

Features on the finalists will be printed in the next four editions of The Delphos Herald beginning with Non-profit Business/Club of the Year finalist on Wednesday.

The business longevity awards will also be distributed at the dinner.

This year’s theme is Delphos Derby. There will be horse races, a Reverse Raffle, items raffle, door prizes and more.

This is the third year for the horse races and Chamber Executive Co-director Maria Diltz said the evening has been popular.

“Everyone has enjoyed the excitement of the horse races along with the Best Ladies Hat and Most Dapper Gent contest,” Diltz said.

Many attending will be in their derby finest complete with dramatic hats and fancy dresses as well as snazzy jackets and bow ties for the men. Prizes will be given for the best attire.

Tickets are still available at $55 per person or $420 for a table of 8. Tickets includes dinner, drinks, entertainment and a reverse raffle ticket. To RSVP, contact the chamber.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.

Reverse Raffle ticket are on sale for $20 each, available at the chamber and from chamber board members. Enter for a chance to win $1,500 cash. The Reverse Raffle will be held throughout the night of the event; need not be present to win.

The chamber is currently accepting donations of raffle and door prizes such as gift cards, tickets, electronics items, memberships, etc., as well as cash donations to purchase these items to be given away.
