DELPHOS — The Downtown Delphos Development Association is proud to sponsor the Downtown Improvement Forum at 6 p.m. on Monday in the Delphos Municipal Building for an open to the public presentation. An additional presentation will be made at 7 p.m. at the City council meeting.

Guest Speaker’s Jason Duff and Eddie Saunders will present their approach to revitalizing buildings and attracting business to those buildings in Bellefontaine where they have been successful.

Duff, 36, is founder and CEO of Bellefontaine Ohio Properties Limited, a development firm that purchases and remodels storefront buildings on Main Street in Bellefontaine. The firm works to attract, recruit and start new businesses in the community of Bellefontaine. Duff is also a third-generation business owner, involved in the family-owned enterprise Ohio Ready Mix.

Duff got his entrepreneurial start early in life. Since elementary school, business has been his way of life. At 8 years of age, he sold bulk candy bars. Eventually, Duff moved on to his second money-making project: a vending enterprise. At the age of 17, he created his first official company: Community Storage & Properties. He built the company around innovative and creative real estate development and designed it to serve his community. At the age of 18, Duff earned the title of “Ohio’s Youngest Realtor” and was able to invest in property and learn more in his trade.

His experience allowed him to expand Community Storage to include another business venture: outdoor advertising. After the success of his first billboard structure, Duff created Comstor Outdoor Ltd., which now has more than 400 billboards in Ohio and Indiana.

Duff has been recognized for his work as a real estate developer and for his revitalization efforts. He shares advice as a contributor to Inc., Forbes and Entrepreneur magazines. In 2012 and 2013, Duff was recognized by the White House as one of the top 100 entrepreneurs in the United States. He was the recipient of the prestigious 2005 Global Student Entrepreneurship Social Impact Award. He also received the “20 Under 40 Business Award” from The Business Journal of West Central Ohio and appears as keynote speaker. He was featured in the November 2008 and January 2009 issues of Inc. and on Inc.’s annual list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private American companies.

Duff graduated from the Ohio Northern University with a business degree. He serves on Ohio Northern University’s Board of Trustees and also was named the recipient of the 2008 William L. Robinson Young Alumni Award, an award given each year to an individual who is committed to Ohio Northern University, his profession and the community.

Saunders…Father. Husband. Billboard guy. Coach. Business owner. Former MMA fighter. Singer/songwriter. These are some of the many things one could use to describe him. But underneath the surface, Saunders is just a small town guy who grew out of his fishbowl. His humble beginnings starting in Anna, Ohio have led him many ways and through many adventures. But along his path he just so happened to make his way to the Lima area to attend UNOH where he would pursue and obtain his degree in marketing; something he feels he was put on this earth to do.

One of the most proud aspects of Saunder’s life is being a father to his two daughters Layla, McKayla, and his son Sammy. He also wouldn’t be even half the man he is today if it weren’t for his strong, amazing, and loving wife Michelle. With family being a huge part of his purpose, he couldn’t possibly feel any more blessed.

Professionally, Saunders co-manages a small Ohio billboard and marketing company called Comstor Outdoor where he oversees over 400 billboard locations throughout Northwestern and Southwestern Ohio. He gets his entrepreneurial fix by serving a select group of clients under his personal reputation management entity “Eddie The Biz Guy.” In addition to all of the above he is also a professional emcee and event host, where he has proud partnerships with Lima Memorial, the Lima Chamber and the Lima Young Professionals.

But above all things, Saunders is a fan of fun and has big ambitions to be the best husband, father, entertainer, and leader that he can be.
