LIMA — The following is a weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on State highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1. All outlined work is weather permitting.

Allen County

Interstate 75 between Napoleon Road and state Route 235, just south of the village of Beaverdam to three miles north of the village of Bluffton, in Allen and Hancock counties, will experience lane restrictions and ramp closures for paving and reconstruction through November 2020.

New impact:

Beginning Aug. 4, both lanes of I-75 southbound at SR 696, Beaverdam, will be shifted onto new pavement.

Continuing impact:

Nighttime lane restrictions, 7 p.m. – 7 a.m., resumed on July 19 and will continue for approximately three months for paving operations.


Ending impacts:

• SR 103 exit ramp from I-75 northbound is now open.

• SR 696 entrance ramp to I-75 southbound is now open.

U.S. 30, both eastbound and westbound, between Fifth Street in Delphos to Slabtown Road near Lima will be restricted to one lane through the work zone at various locations for pavement repair.

State Route 65/Elm Street and Pine Street at their intersection in the city of Lima closed June 1 for replacement of the bridges over the Ottawa River. Completion is expected in late fall 2020.

Continuing impact:

• Elm Street and Pine Street intersection closed July 6 for approximately 24 days for beam removal and beam setting.

• Elm Street and Pine Street intersection is closed at the bridges at the intersection.

— Eastbound detour: Central Ave. to Market St. to Bellefontaine Ave (SR 309/SR 117).

— Westbound detour: Bellefontaine Ave (SR 309/ SR 117) to Market St. to S. Union St.

State Route 81 over the Ottawa River approximately three miles east of the city of Lima is closed for a bridge deck replacement through July. Work at the bridge will be complete before the beginning of the week.

State Route 117 (Shawnee Road) between Garden Boulevard and Cable Road, in the city of Lima, closed June 22 for approximately 45 days for bridge maintenance and repair.

Continuing impact:

— Detour: Eastown Road to Elm Street to Woodlawn Avenue (SR 117).

Putnam County

U.S. 224 between the village of Ottawa and State Route 235, Hancock County, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project.

U.S. 224 within the village of Ottawa will have lane restrictions for the installation of sidewalk ramps in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

State Route 65 between the village of Ottawa and the village of Columbus Grove will have lane restrictions for the installation of centerline rumble strips. Work will begin in approximately two weeks with removal of pavement reflectors, followed by the installation of the rumble strips. Once under way, work is expected to be completed within two weeks.

U.S. 30 between State Route 66 and State Route 190, near Delphos, will have lane restrictions for drainage repairs.

State Route 108 in the village of Miller City will close Monday for approximately 2 weeks for slope repair.

— Detour: SR 613 to SR 109 to SR 118 back to SR 108

State Route 108 between State Route 613 and Township Road 6, approximately one mile south of Miller City, will close Monday for approximately 75 days for bridge deck and slope repair at the Miller City Cutoff.

Upcoming impact:

— Detour: SR 613 to SR 15 back to SR 108

State Route 189 at Township Highway 21, approximately one mile east of the village of Fort Jennings, will close Aug. ­­­­­10 for approximately 19 days for culvert replacements.

Upcoming impact:

Detour: SR 634 to U.S. 224 to SR 115 back to SR 189

State Route 634 between County Highway N and Township Road N-22, near the area of Muntanna, is open.

Van Wert County

U.S. 30 in both directions at U.S. 127 will have lane restrictions for pavement repairs.

U.S. 30 at U.S. 224, both eastbound and westbound, Van Wert, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone beginning Aug. 17 for a project that will reconstruct and lower the pavement beneath the U.S. 224 overhead to increase vertical clearance. The project also includes drainage work, and replacement of barrier wall and guardrail. The project is expected to be completed late October.

Upcoming impact:

— U. S. 30 traffic will be maintained in one lane in each direction.

— Liberty Union Road from U.S. 30 to Terry Road will close Aug. 17 for approximately three months.

— The ramp from U.S. 224 northbound to U.S. 30 westbound will close in late September for approximately 30 days.

— U.S. 224 is not expected to be affected.

State Route 81 between State Route 116 and Township Road 199, near Spencerville is expected to reopen some time during the week

Jefferson Street between Main Street and Crawford Street, just south of Central Avenue in the city of Van Wert will closed on May 11 for approximately 90 days for a bridge replacement.

Continuing impact:

— Detour: Main St. to Jefferson St. to Central Street to Washington Street to Crawford Street.
