DELPHOS — Jesse A. Hodgson, 30, of Delphos will appear in Van Wert Common Pleas Court on Wednesday in connection with the burglary of a home in the 600 bock of Leonard Avenue on the morning of Aug. 3, 2017.

Hodgson was indicted by the August 2018 session of the Van Wert County Grand Jury regarding the Aug. 3, 2017, case.

Police reports indicate an intruder had entered the Leonard Street home through an exterior door shortly before 3 a.m. that morning. A family member awoke to find the intruder inside one of the rooms. The intruder fled the scene.

Hodgson was arrested just before 8 a.m. the next day (Aug. 4, 2017) in the 1000 block of West Second Street. A homeowner had called 9-1-1 as she witnessed a man entering her residence through an unlocked door that morning. Hodgson fled the area but taken into custody a short distance from the scene and transported to the Van Wert County Jail on felony burglary charges at the time.

On Jan. 17, 2018, the Van Wert County Common Pleas Court found that Hodgson was not competent to stand trial at that time and he was transported to a mental facility in northwest Ohio.

Hodgson was recently released from his mental health treatment and brought back to Van Wert County Jail and now faces two felony burglary charges from the Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 incidents.
